Charge and Mission
The Security Subcommittee was formed as a result of a recommendation from the TIF membership. The recommendation was approved by Dr. Bruno, Vice Provost for Information and Educational Technology, in April 2002. The TIF Security Subcommittee held its kick-off meeting on June 5, 2002.
The subcommittee assists Information and Educational Technology (IET) in improving computing system and network security on campus. More specifically, the subcommittee's responsibilities include:
- Identifying, analyzing, developing, and/or assisting with the implementation of the various elements of the UC Davis security infrastructure
- Sharing campus units' perspectives, issues, and problems regarding computer and network security
- Recommending security measures, projects, and initiatives to IET that would benefit campus academic and administrative departments.

The subcommittee is chaired by
, Graduate School of Management.
The subcommittee is comprised of TIF members as well as computing professionals from across campus with an interest or expertise in security issues.
